The company has been owned and operated for more than five generations by the Mazza family. Originally founded in Leghorn, Italy in 1840 as a importer of precious and semi-precious stones and pearls, the company moved to the New York City in 1915, and has since grown to become the nationally-known fine jewelry manufacturer, Robert Bartholomew.
Its first retail location, Sands Point Shop, opened its doors in Port Washington, NY in 1996. Over the course of two decades, the store has grown to include numerous designer handbag & luggage brands, fine apparel, luxury gift items, and of course fabulous jewelry and watches
Our Company History:
1840 – Robert Bartholomew established in Leghorn, Italy as a coral dealer
1915 – Relocates to the US. Setting up at the Woolworth Building in New York City selling stones to retailers such as Tiffany & Cartier
1933 – Becomes one of the first tenants of 30 Rockefeller Center
1972 – On site full service jewelry manufacturing facility opens in New York City
1996 – Company relocates to Port Washington, Long Island with a new facility and opens Sands Point Shop
2002 – Launches SandsPointShop.com and Magnums.net
Today – Still family owned and operated, and active in the Port Washington community
